Event Photography - Photo Release/Consent

Make it stand out

Whatever it is, the way you tell your story online can make all the difference.

When you hire an event photographer to “shoot” your event, there is a chance someone may be photographed who does not want their photo displayed publicly (IE: on social media or on a website). This may be considered as a breach of privacy.

To protect yourself against a (potentially costly) conflict, I suggest displaying some sort of photo release/consent. You can have something printed in your brochure, on the registration form, or something as simple as a sign saying By attending this event, you are allowing us to use any photographs taken of you in any future <insert company name> publications. If your event includes children, I recommend having a parent or guardian sign a photo release/consent form.

This being said, non commercial photography in a public space does not require consent.
